original film treatment dan eldon was a poster boy for living life to its fullest. born in england and raised in africa, he was on a mission to experience everything the world had to offer as the youngest ever photojournalist for reuters. at the age of 22, dan eldon was killed in a way more befitting of another era: he and three other photojournalist were stoned to death by a mob in somalia after u.n. forces attacked an alleged stronghold of general mohammed farrah aidid. although he died young, eldon left a startling record of his incredible life: 17 journals (6lbs) full of collages, layers of photographs, clippings, writings and other scrapes. dan's mother, kathy eldon has sifted through the journals and published the best of them as the journey is the destination: the journal of dan eldon. this pod will focus on dan eldon's incredible life before his untimely death, an exclusive look at the original journals and photos, and a reveling interview with dan's mother kathy eldon. |
